Worth the time We highly recommend this tour. Jon is an excellent. He is very knowledgable and witty. He also does not rush the tour and is respectful to those on it and the broad range of questions he gets.

Great fun learning experience We had heard most of this Charleston history before , but this was presented with a different twist and with a humorous energetically manner.
Booked as Historic women of Charleston thru Viator. Guide said the real name was Bad Ass Broads of Charleston.

Engaging and entertaining guide tells the stories of women of Charleston on his walking tour. We did the afternoon “Badass Broads of Charleston” walking tour by J Walk Tours. This tour focused on women who made an impact on the history of Charleston. Jonathan was engaging and friendly. He wove his stories into the sites we saw a long the way. Johnathan is passionate about sharing these stories and has a sincere appreciation for the these women. He also touched on the history of slavery in Charleston. It’s not a feminist tour but rather tells the stories of these women. It’s not only for women! It was more interesting than I expected.

Best walking tour guide Jonathan is by far the best tour guide I have ever had. He is not only great story teller of Charleston history, he is very passionate about that history. You will enjoy yourself so much you won’t even realize you are also learning things! Do not second guess taking one of his tours, you will NOT be disappointed!

Amazing Walking Tour in the Heart of the City This tour was absolutely fabulous! We had an amazing time learning about the incredible women who shaped Charleston’s history. Great tour from an enthusiastic guide! Took the Chicora Walking Tour with Jonathan with a group of friends on our first morning in Charleston — we made up four of a group of six on a Saturday morning in March. Jonathan is a really thoughtful and knowledgeable guide and his enthusiasm for his city and its stories were contagious. We enjoyed the tour and were glad to get a little bit of the content from his “Badass Broads” tour mixed in. Thanks Jonathan!

He shared nuances that you won’t notice when just walking the streets, highlighted some facts and context from a very complex history of Charleston he city. We definitely learned a lot and can’t recommend him enough. When I’m back in Charleston, I will take his other tours - specifically about women of Charleston. He is a local gem!

Passion and knowledge Jonathon is the most knowledgeable and passionate guide I've met. He really loves his history. His tour is easy to walk. We have visiting Charleston many times but never really knew what we were looking at or even how to begin to understand the history. This tour with Jonathon gave me an understanding of the people and culture, the architecture. How Charleston changed over the years was interesting.

The guide, Jonathan Green, was fabulous - very knowledgeable, passionate about his topic, full of interesting stories, details, anecdotes and facts. He knows the city and its people. Simply the Best This is by far the best tour to be had. So in depth, knowledgeable, and sincere that you feel like you're getting a first hand account of both the well known and little known history of Charleston. And fun at the same time! Don't miss this!

Best Walking Tour in Charleston, SC I booked with Jwalk Tours based on the reviews. I read at least 40 and there is nothing but GREAT things to say about Jwalk, and now I know they were not wrong. You cannot delete bad reviews, so if there are none, this is a solid company. Johnathan is the owner and your tour guide, and he was easy on the ears and enjoyable to listen to. He draws you into his world as if you were living there when the cannon was going off.

We went on 1/17/25 at 10 am. It was a cold morning, and we lucked out and had a private tour, which made the tour even more enjoyable. He let us all know he encourages us to ask questions, but he asks that we wait until we break, and now I know why. For almost every question we wanted to ask, the answers were already coming within 12 minutes. I tried to think of questions he had never received before, and they were all answered in due time. I laughed, the pace was perfect, and with so many stops to learn something new, there was no real need for a traditional break.

You also meet up at a coffee shop beforehand, which is nice if you want to fuel up or have something warm in your hands when it is 40 degrees out. He is very knowledgeable, and we had an amazing time. We have already referred him to other guests from our hotel, Meeting Street Inn, which was also amazing.

Wonderful tour This was by far the best tour I have been on. If you are in Charleston I highly recommend this tour. Jonathan sure knows Charleston, a very gifted story teller and a wealth of information. You will not be disappointed.

Super Tour 11/12/24. Nine people on the walking tour. Very informative, very personable, never rushed us. Actually got an extra 1/2 hour. Did three carriage tours before but would recommend this one over them. I would highly recommend this tour. Harry and Terry.

BadAss Women of Charleston walking tour was fabulous! We fully enjoyed our tour with Jonathan! Jonathan knows Charleston history and culture extremely well - both the good and the bad. He was well prepared with amazing and touching stories of women's positive impact on Charleston. We learned a lot!

Excellent walk in Charleston Jonathan gave an excellent tour. He provided a lot of insights into the city of Charleston. He was showing the highlights and was compassionate about the city.

It was wonderful meeting Mildred the Gullah basket lady, seeing the location of the oldest theater in the United States, and learning about the history of the city good and bad.

He made an excellent reservation for lunch as well the Blind Tiger.

Superb Jonathan was great and this is the best tour to gain your knowledge of Charleston. Length was just right and amount of walking not strenuous
