This tour is a must do when in Charleston! He was the best tour guide and had the kids attention the whole time. We had such a great time and I loved that the kids could truly enjoy the tour too! So glad we found JWalk tours

Worth the time and money!

The Badass Broads tour is one of the most interesting tours we’ve taken in our many years of going to Charleston! Jonathan is an excellent and enthusiastic guide with in-depth knowledge of the Badass Broads of Charleston. Thoroughly enjoyable and worth the money!

Amazing Women, Amazing Tour

this was an amazing tour. Jonathon is a great story teller and was very knowledgable about the ladies, the city. on a side note the mango smoothie at the Bitts & Beau meeting place was very yummy

A Rare Gem of a Family-Friendly Experience in Charleston

We took the Junior Nighttime Passport Experience with one of our grandkids, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip to Charleston. Instead of just listening to history, the kids become part of the adventure by collecting passport stamps, solving clues, and exploring the city after dark. It kept our grandson completely engaged from start to finish—and honestly, the adults had just as much fun! The guide was energetic, knowledgeable, and fantastic with kids, weaving Charleston’s history into an interactive experience that never felt like a classroom lesson. We all learned something new while laughing and making memories together. If you’re traveling with children or grandchildren, I can’t recommend this tour enough. It’s creative, educational, and genuinely entertaining—a rare combination. Our grandson is already asking when we can come back and do it again. Five stars without hesitation!

Great for the whole family!!!

This was a great activity for the whole family. While it is a kid focused experience, the adults got so much out of the tour too! I highly recommend for Girl Scouts!

The best tour of Charleston history!!

Three of us took the Badass Broads of Charleston tour, a couple of us live near Charleston and have taken several different tours of the city over the years, this was by far the BEST Tour! Jonathon was SO knowledgeable an a great tour guide. This is a must do when everyone visiting Charleston! The best tour ever!!

Incredible Family Experience!

We had the absolute best time on the Junior Nighttime Passport Experience! JWalk Tours has truly mastered the art of keeping kids engaged while making sure the adults have just as much fun. The "passport" concept is brilliant and kept everyone excited from start to finish. It is worth every single penny—an absolute must-do if you are visiting Charleston with family! 5/5 stars all the way!

A MUST DO Family Experience in Charleston

Our family absolutely loved Charleston's Junior JWalker Experience with JWalk Tours! It was the perfect blend of history, fun, and hands-on learning that kept the kids engaged from beginning to end. One of the highlights was that each child received their own Junior JWalker passport at the start of the tour. At every stop, after learning about Charleston's history through interactive stories and fun questions, parents got to place a sticker in their child's passport. It was such a simple but brilliant way to keep the kids excited and involved—they couldn't wait to earn their next sticker! Our guide made history come alive with activities and questions that encouraged the children to participate instead of just listening. By the end of the tour, our kids were proudly showing off their completed passports and talking about all the fascinating things they had learned. This experience was educational, interactive, and thoughtfully designed for families. If you're visiting Charleston with children, the Junior JWalker Experience is a MUST DO. JWalk Tours has created a memorable adventure that makes learning about Charleston's history genuinely fun for kids and parents alike!

Amazing family fun!

Absolutely loved this tour. The story telling is top notch. Kept my son engaged and interested. This tour was so needed in Charleston, there isn’t much to do with little kids after dinner and this was the perfect way to end our day! We love JWalk Tours

If you only take one walking tour, make sure this is it!

We take tours via Viator and Trip Advisor throughout the world. We’ve had wonderful experiences but THIS walking tour was EXCEPTIONAL! Jonathan knows how to weave a story and include a great deal of information into one story at each point. You will not regret taking this tour and learning the history of various Bad Ass women of Charleston and the importance of these women in history! Our niece booked the tour for the family and it was perfect!

Jonathan was dynamic and knowledgeable. I tend to ask lots of questions, which he was a great sport towards. We appreciated his passion for the anti-slavery and civil rights histories. The stories he shared were inspiring.

Highly recommend this tour

The walk with Jonathan was very informative and thoughtful in the way he presented it. He discussed different points of view and brought up the contributions of the men and women who played a role in Charleston’s history. Clear, Engaging, and Highly Recommended

Jonathan was an excellent guide who presented the tour as a fascinating story woven through Charleston’s history. It was engaging, entertaining, and educational from start to finish. One member of our group is hard of hearing, so we especially appreciated how clearly and powerfully John speaks. Easily the best two hours of our short stay in Charleston. Highly recommended.

Unimpressive

Started almost 15 min late, d/t late arrivals walking up in the same group. Then, our tour went over time by 30 min.,(even when we were asked if this was ok, we politely said we had pressing appointments to prepare for . We were pretty much ignored by our Guide). Our Guide said even he was going to be “late” for his next tour. This was d/t a combo of starting late and our Guide’s excessive talking at each of our stops. I also heard from the guide he had a choice of 9 or more tours he could have taken us on, however, we had no opportunity to select any of these options. As you can tell. I was unimpressed with this tour d/t the circumstances and organizational abilities of our Guide. Sorry to say, I definitely would NOT recommend this tour to others.

The best family tour in town

This was such a fun family experience. We got to explore the beautiful city and hear extraordinary stories of the city. I couldn’t recommend this tour enough. Jonathan does an amazing job in story telling and i can’t wait to take the tour again.

Great family fun and memories

I took my two kids, five and nine, and we had a great time!! I was worried about my kids staying engaged throughout the whole tour, but they had a great time!! My son said it was the best day ever and went to bed re-reading his passport and kept it under his pillow that night so he could re-read it again the next morning. The next morning, both my kids kept talking about the cheers and all the stops we did over breakfast. I was so happy to have my kids get excited about the city they live in. I can't recommend this tour enough!!

Great thing to do with kids!

Amazing experience! As a family that has lived in Charleston for a long time, we noticed that this tour was for kids and thought we would shake things up by being tourists in our own town! John kept the kids fully engaged the whole time while we learned details about our city that we hadn't known. Couldn't recommend it enough. Thanks John!

Highly recommend!

We were lucky to choose Jwalk for our walking tour. Jonathan is knowledgeable and friendly and the two hours flew by. He hit all the stops on the itinerary. We learned quite a bit and it was better than if we walked around on our own and tried to research and read plaques.

This tour is worth the time and money.

Jonathan did a stellar job telling interesting and touching stories of Bad Ass Broads of Charleston. We have spent quite a few days touring Downtown Charleston, and this tour gave us history that helped us connect other historic facts we've heard. Learning about the men and women of Historic Charleston has been a fascinating plus to our lovely trip. I would highly recommend booking this tour and learn about these Bad Ass Broads.

Great Tour for the History Buff

Such an amazing tour! I went with a Bachelorette Party. Now warning, the tour talks about very serious issues. But if you love history and have a group of feminists it's perfect for you. He gives a great mix of general Charleston history with emphasis on some really some amazing women. I would do it again!

Strong Women of Charleston

What an amazing tour! I was the only participant, but Johnathan Green did not cancel. Thank you, Johnathan. I learned so much about the strong women of Charleston who helped shape the city's history. Johnathan had a wealth of knowledge about the formation of "Charles Town," Gullah-Geechee culture, historical buildings, and the spirit of Charleston. My father graduated from The Citadel, so I have been visiting Charleston since I was a small child. Over the years, I have taken numerous historical tours, but this is my all-time favorite. Thank you, Johnathan! I highly recommend any tour he guides.
